Host of Art and Soul Kindred Spirits, Amy Schmidt has a deep passion for the creative arts and the holistic community. When merging health and healing components into her events, she envisions expanding the awareness of those who are on a path to experience more positivity in their lives, and to find joy in their own creative essence. She believes the offerings our events can be an aid to help one to experience greater well-being. It is the perfect place to find that special purchase to lift one’s spirits or find transformational tools for one’s life. She desires that each attendee goes home feeling treasured and honored for their presence at the event.
Amy has a rich and diverse history that has brought her forth to the event industry. As a long-time exhibitor, artist, and spiritual practitioner, she understands the hearts and needs of those hosting booths, and also what people may find helpful when implementing holistic solutions.
Amy started her first business in the late 1980’s selling her handmade quilts, textile items, layering hand-painted furniture and primitive wood works. Pairing with her tradeshow circuits, she soon found herself forming the cottage industry, Spirit of Love Designs. This product line offered prints of her original artwork, adorned with whimsical hand-painted frames. This operation quickly expanded to a national level with her works placed in several retail boutiques across the country.
Not long after, the retail boutique Sassafrass in Castle Rock Colorado was born. This funky, eclectic, three-building venture was the home for many artists, craftspeople, and small businesses for several years. This past endeavor holds wonderful memories of loyal customers, hosting courtyard buffets and fundraisers, and a multitude of other events.
True You ~ A Shopping Emporium, located in the heart of downtown Parker, Colorado, was Amy’s next endeavor. This 4,000 SF forum opened up opportunities to bring a creative spark and holistic exposure into the community. Being a booth rental for local small businesses, her shop also encompassed specific spaces to hold creative workshops and events, and for practitioners using their healing modalities.
Amy expanded her own spiritual practices and personal growth by gaining certification from Orange County Institute of The Life Coaching in 2016. As a member of a local spiritual community, she provided her service as a licensed practitioner for a local center. Among her other pursuits, she also studied and received certifications from Aspen School of Psychic development.
Today, she continues to implement her creative ideas and talents. Infusing her originality and spirituality into her handworks, she has evolved to designing and fashioning purposeful gemstone jewelry, malas, and various other products that reflect meaning and intention for the individual.
